Religions Can’t Save You

This book is about various religions and cults.  I wrote it because many of my friends and acquaintances belong to different religions and go to different churches.  After studying these religions I concluded we should be very careful what church we attend.  Not every church out there is Christian.  Many of them do not believe in the deity of Christ and few believe the Bible to be the Word of God.  Numerous ministers preach what they feel you want to hear and most televangelists are in business to make you feel good and collect your money.  I researched the Bible for references to Truth and included my thoughts on these religions from the Bible.  In my commentary I added my opinions using scripture as my guide.

Listed above are the chapters of my book.  If you wish to read it or you desire a copy I can have copies made.  They usually run about $8.00 to $10.00 per copy plus shipping and handling, which is about $4.00.  Pastor Ron

Our Affirmation of faith/Covenant of Christ Ministry

Pastor Ron’s Corner

Our Affirmation of faith

1: We believe there is one God comprised of three distinct yet correlative persons. They are independent yet one. Each is God sharing in the Glory of God.

2: We believe Jesus the Christ is the second person of this Holy trinity, begotten not made and we believe He existed with God as the Word of God from the beginning and is the creator of all things visible and invisible.

3: We believe the Holy Spirit is our helper sent to us by God for assistance to us in our faith and to prove us in our sin. We believe the Holy Spirit is God in the third person because the Bible tells us the Holy Spirit comes forth from God.

4: We believe in the Body of Christ, His Church, His bride established from all eternity and that all true Christians are the composition of His body, His Church.

5: We believe in the Covenant of Grace given freely by God through our Lord Jesus the Christ established in His death and resurrection bringing Jew and Gentile together as one family in Christ before God the Father.

6: We believe in the Virgin Birth of Christ; His mother Mary, conceived Him by the power of the Holy Spirit of God and that He was conceived both man and God in her womb. We believe He walked among us as a regular man willingly giving up His claim to deity for the sake of His mission and in the process, never sinned against the law of God, thus fulfilling the law on our behalf.

7: We believe Jesus the Christ to be the absolute and only salvation given man by God.

8: We believe He descended into Sheol, and entered that part called Paradise, the bosom of Abraham and freed all those souls awaiting His resurrection.

9: We believe He ascended into Heaven and took those freed souls with Him where they entered the Kingdom of God and He sits at the right hand of God.

10: We believe Jesus will return at the end of the age and judge the living and the dead, understanding that those found in Christ are already judged innocent.

12: We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person in the Trinity who comes forth from God to prove the world of Sin and lives in the unified body of Christ, His church and bride.

13: We believe in the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of Sin, the resurrection of body and life everlasting.

14: We believe the Bible is the Holy true Word of God without error. We believe it is a book of Truth given us by God for teaching and understanding of our salvation in Christ.

15: We believe salvation comes through our faith in Jesus the Christ and not from works. We believe works are the manifestation of our faith and our salvation in Christ.

16: We believe natural man can only be saved by coming to Christ. Man in his natural state is alien to God and falls short of God’s absolute glory. Therefore no man can enter God’s kingdom unless he repents of his earthly fleshy ways and comes to salvation given us by Christ, so Christ might bring him to purification and sanctification for his entry into the Kingdom of God.

17: We believe no flesh and blood can enter the Kingdom of God for the flesh is sin and no sin can be in the presence of our Glorious God and King.

18: We believe God calls all men to Christ but there are those who love the darkness and will never come to our glorious God. Therefore, we pray for them and all our enemies that their hearts might be softened.

19: We believe all things are created for and of our Glorious God and nothing can exist aside from Him.

Thought For The Day

Thought for the day

Satan

Have you ever wondered  who Satan really is?

Those of us who  studied ‘Milton’s Paradise Lost’ think we know the answer,  but who is he?

The King James Version of the Bible tells us he is Lucifer the fallen angel.  The father of all liars, the great destroyer.  There are many places in the Bible that talks about him, even Job, but who is he?

Many people do not believe he exists.  Many Christians fail to understand his mission. Lovers of Christ hate him and haters of God love him.   The writing below is what I believe about Satan.

Satan is the ruler of this world.    Here is why I say that. I am sure many will disagree but disagreeing with truth does not nullify truth any more than swearing that a lie is true makes it true.  The Bible tells us that Satan has many children on this earth.  Since we know he is the father of all liars it’s a good chance every liar is a son or daughter of Satan.  Being a son or daughter of Satan does not necessarily mean a person is condemned to some hell but it does mean those individuals do not do the will of God and if you do not do the will of God, how then can salvation come to you?  God has two states for man to choose.  First: we can choose to live in the will of the Spirit, or second: we can choose to live by the will of the flesh.  It is simple; if we live by the will of God’s Spirit through Christ, we are saved.  If we live by the will of the flesh ruled by Satan, we are condemned.  Jesus said, “He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword.” I suggest living by the sword is the same as living according to the flesh.  In another statement He said, “Render to Cesar the things that are Cesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”  Accordingly, Cesar is contrary to God and Cesar represents government.  Worldly governments are created for power by rulers.  Those desires come from Satan and are of the world, the will of the flesh and not from God.  I can say that because Adam was created a child of Light and Eve was taken from him.  They were not children of darkness until they turned their lives over to Satan.  That is when the Light left them. As soon as the Light left them they became flesh and blood, children dominated by the will of the flesh , which is controlled by Satan unless we give our lives to Christ and let Him rule us.

Satan is the father of adultery because he adulterates the word of God with his many false religions. He is the father of blasphemy because his religions create false images and idols of worship. He is the father of anger, hatred, bigotry, inequality, wars, slavery, racism, all sorts of falsities and fallacies.  He is the ruler of Russia, North Korea, Egypt, Syria, and all other governments, including the United States.  He is the ruler of darkness and confusion.  He created all the false gods, including Allah/Illa, the moon-god of darkness.  He is the demon and the creator of chaos, confusion, lust and greed.  He rules Hollywood, labor unions, abortion clinics and  many religious organizations.  He is the author of murder and coveting of all sorts.  He is the leader of nearly all wars.  His name is Alexander, Napoleon, Hitler, Putin, Kim Jong-Un, Obama, Pelosi, Hillary and all others who live in the world for the world seeking their own power by any and all means.  He is the personification of all evil and he has billions of followers and children.  Escaping his domain and his rule is simple. Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus the Christ, the son of the living God and walk in His ways  and you shall be saved.  There is no other name given unto man for salvation except the name of the Son of God, Joshua, Jesus, our salvation.

What is a Christian?

A Christian is an individual who has totally and completely given his or her life over to Christ.  We understand that with God there is no middle ground, no vacillating back and forth between Spirit and flesh.  We have repented of this world, the flesh, all carnal activity that is contrary to God.  In our repentance we acknowledge that sin is manifested by our fleshy desires and accentuated by the influence of Satan but we reject that sin relying on Jesus as our protector.  We understand that Jesus is our salvation from this world of evil deeds and that He personally died for all our sins.  We recognize that we are now children of light as it was intended from all eternity and we walk in that light forsaking all earthly carnal pleasures loving God with our whole heart, mind, body and soul. We recognize further that Jesus is the Truth, the Way, the Light, the Beginning and the end of all things and there is no other way to enter the Kingdom of God except through Jesus the Christ.  We understand that without Jesus, there is no salvation.

God is Real

God is Real

My new book uses Scripture to show the wonderful attributes of our loving God.  Using Bible prophecy this book reveals God’s creation of the universe, God’s creatioin of man and how Satan manipulateed both Adam and Eve into rebelling against God.  The book also reveals through Bible prophecy the coming Messiah, Jesus the Christ.  One Prophet, Daniel prophesied the exact day Jesus would enter Jeruslaem as their Messiah.  Jesus did enter Jerusalem on April 6, 33 AD.  The Bible is the most accurate book ever put to print and the Jewish scribes were the most meticulous writers in the world.

Understanding God’s Word

adam-and-eveEpisode 2

9/26/2016

I would like to explain something about God.  God is a perfect being.  He is a Spirit and a creator.  He cannot change the way He is because His nature is one of perfection.  He cannot do anything wrong and He cannot accept anything or anyone into His kingdom unless they are perfect.  So that you do not become confused, that perfection we seek is in Jesus.  He is our perfection and you will understand that as I go on explaining all this. For now, I can say that Jesus came here and died for us that we might be purified to enter His kingdom. Any person on this earth who comes to Christ Jesus our Lord with a contrite heart in repentance can and will be saved.  There is no reason for anyone on this planet to perish.

After Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the forbidden tree, they were banished from God’s Garden, but they were not forgotten.  God promised them a savior.  In Genesis 3:13 God questions Adam and Eve about their sin and like all people Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent.  But God loves His creation so He promised them a Savior in spite of their failure.  He said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you will go, and dust you will eat all the days of your life; and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

This is a fascinating statement made by God because it contains a number of truths not revealed in the statement.  Satan is cursed to eat dust.  Man returns to dust when he dies.  “By the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

A critical thinker would look at those two statements and wonder. But what is there to wonder about.  Satan goes about the world working diligently with his followers to devour every man he can.  We are his slaves and he devours our soul, our spirits; he destroys our ambitions to love God and he interferes with our hopes and our dreams to enter the Kingdom of God.  That is why he is called the great destroyer.

Prior to the coming of Christ, Satan spent his every moment trying to destroy the Jews so there would be no Messiah.  However, we know from history that all his efforts failed.  The Messiah did indeed arrive and He arrived right on time as prophesied by Daniel, Isaiah and Jeremiah.

Now the man, Adam called his wife Eve because she was the ‘mother of all living.’  This is another fascinating statement.  Note that Adam did not include the mother of the dead, only the living. Through Adam and Eve down through the ages of Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and through the loins of Jesse and David his son, we get from that lineage, Jesus, our salvation and those of us who come to Him and give our lives over to Him have eternal life in Him.  We are the living in Christ.  What did Jesus say to the man who wanted to go bury his father? He said in Luke 9:60, “Let the dead bury their own dead.  You follow Me.” He said this because He came here to save all who would come to Him but those who do not are among the dead, not the living. Eve was the mother of all living through Jesus the Christ.  Those of us who live under the protection of the blood of Jesus are the living; we are the living because we are saved for the Kingdom of God.

Then God said to Satan, “…And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head and you shall bruise him on the heel.”  The Roman church propagated the idea that the woman mentioned above was Mary, but that is by no means true; the Roman church used that portion of the Bible to elevate Mary to a position not given her in the Bible.  The woman mentioned in the above statement is the body of Christ, His church. The enmity between her seed and Satan’s seed can only mean one thing; the followers of Christ will always be at war with the followers of Satan.  Today that enmity is obviously prevalent.  Genesis goes on to say, “He shall bruise you on the head and you shall bruise Him on the heel.” The interesting thing about the above statement is when and how will these bruises take place.  Satan is always nipping at our heels, so the statement probably refers to the attacks on the body of Christ but the bruising on the head probably refers to the anti-Christ, when he falls but not by the hand of man. In Daniel 11:19 he says, “So he will turn his face toward the fortresses of his own land, but he will stumble and fall and be found no more.” Daniel goes on to say, “Then in his place one will arise who will send an oppressor through the jewel of his kingdom; yet within a few days he will be shattered, though not in anger nor in battle.” It is interesting these statements in Daniel about the anti-Christ and Satan.  Daniel tells us in 11:21, In his place a despicable person will arise, on whom the honor of kingship has not been conferred, but he will come in a time of tranquility and seize the kingdom by intrigue. 22The overflowing forces will be flooded away before him and shattered, and also the prince of the covenant.”  This man will be quite powerful and the forces brought against him will be shattered.  The Prince of the covenant obviously refers to Jesus and we know that the Messiah was cut off in 32 AD.  In Daniel 11:21 the prophet talks about Satan taking over, “a despicable person will arise…”  This is where Satan takes over the body of the anti-Christ and rises up to complete his mission of destruction.  This above statement of bruising Satan on the head is pertaining to Jesus when the anti-Christ is struck down and found no more.

What God is saying is this. He will bring forth someone who will war against Satan. Satan will attack Him through His followers but He will attack Satan personally and crush his head.  When Jesus crushes Satan’s head He will do it in the last days of this creation.  In other words, God is telling us there will be a savior for man and He will take back the kingdom of the earth for Himself and His people.  His people are all those who come to Him and give their lives to Him.  Those people are called Christians in today’s world, but we must also remember that Satan is attacking God’s people every moment of every day.  He is the ruler of this world at this time and he knows his time is short.  All those who profess Christ as their savior will be attacked until they are removed from this earth.

The salvation offered to all the world came when Jesus was crucified and rose again from the dead.  There were over 100 witnesses who saw Him after he was hung on the Roman cross and died.  The Bible said many times that He would only be in the grave three days and then He would rise again. Jesus even told the Pharisees the only sign they would get would be the sign of Jonah in Mathew 12:39.  At the moment Jesus rose from the dead He had completed His task of Salvation but then He had to free those still in Sheol in Abraham’s bosom.

Now, the Salvation offered by Jesus is offered those who come to Him and give their lives over to Him; there are many who profess Jesus as their Savior and I know nothing about the hearts of any individual who claims Jesus as their salvation, but I do know the Bible tells me that Jesus is Lord and that means He is in charge of my life completely.  Therefore,  my life is His.  Those who acknowledge Jesus yet refuse Him the honor of full complete control could easily be deluded enough to remain in the clutches of Satan, their master.  Jesus told us no man can serve two masters at the same time. Mathew 6:24.    If He is your master then bow down to Him and worship Him; He is our God.

According to the Bible, people enslaved to Satan are miserable; they thirst, they hunger, they suffer and they are alone longing for peace, which they cannot find. The Bible also tells us that those who belong to Satan curse and swear,  blaspheme the name of God refusing to ever understand the Truth.  They covet, commit adultery, argue, gossip, fume, fight have fits of anger, hatred, despair and hopelessness. They are drunkards, womanizers, murderers, adulterers, haters of God.  They have no hope unless they come to Christ.  Because God is Love; He accepts them into His house as long as they come through Christ Jesus.

The salvation offered to all men is quite simple.  It is a hope and a promise that those of us who truly love our Lord, our God will be saved from the slavery of Satan and a life of misery.  There is something else that is important.  Not all people who call themselves Christian are actually Christians.  Satan has infiltrated nearly all the religions and in doing so has corrupted those religions to the point where they are no longer following God. In addition, Satan not only rules many churches, he also runs every government on the planet.  He rules his children as any salve master would and he never lets them go. He runs dance halls, discos, gentlemen’s clubs, bars, businesses and just about everything on this earth, and if you are honest, you will see his influence in nearly everything on the planet.  Hollywood comes to mind but also nearly all magazines.  Anything that is contrary to God’s Word in the Bible belongs to Satan.  The real irony of all this is all those in the grasp of Satan do not believe they are doing anything wrong; they have no idea they are slaves to a very cruel master who will remove them from the good graces of God.  The world is so corrupt that people no longer know right from wrong.  Take for instance, Abortion; certainly, abortion has to be against the wishes of God, but Satan, working through many governments has legalized this act of murder. In the United States working through our Supreme Court, Satan convinced the democrats and some republicans that abortion perfectly legal.  People believe that since the government says it is legal, it has to be alright. Surely, according to our government and most democrats, every mother to be has a right to murder her child because it is her body.  To the Christian, that seems rather selfish and we call it what it is, murder.  Obviously, it is a sin in the eyes of God but those who are partners in abortion can be forgiven.  Many of them thinking the government is the whole law will murder their unborn children and think nothing of it. If those individuals never come to Christ they will be lost to their master, Satan for all eternity but those who repent and come to Christ will be saved.

Understanding God’s Word

7/25/2016

Episode One

It is a burden upon my heart to bring the Bible alive and it is my duty to bring the Word of God to all who will accept it.  It is also the obligation of those who come to Christ to understand God’s Word and rightly divide His Word that we are able to make a decent apology for our beliefs and proclaim the Gospel of God, which means ‘Good News.’ Jesus Himself said, “Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth will make you free.” (John 8:32)

There is much confusion about the Bible and many arguments about the number of books ordained by God.  The Roman religion has, from different times, placed the Apocrypha in the Bible and then later removed it only to put it back in again, so even the popes have no idea whether the Apocrypha is the Word of God or the word of man.

In the Protestant Bible there are 66 books-27 of them are in the New Testament.  The New Testament is mainly about Jesus the Christ, the Messiah.  His real name was ‘Yeshua Ben Joseph’ or ‘Joshua Ben Joseph’ but the Latin translation gives us the name, Jesus.  The name means Jehovah, or God.  The name Immanuel means God with us.  Yeshua means Jehovah same as Joshua.

In the Old Testament we have over 350 prophesies about the coming Messiah and Jesus fulfilled nearly all of them except for the few that are left for the end times.  Let me begin with the very first book of the Old Testament and give you a little history about the book before I begin.  The first five books of the Old Testament are grouped together and called the Torah.  Although it is controversial, I go along with tradition and establish that belief here that the five books were written by a servant of God, a man named Moses.  Moses will be explained later when we get to the book, Exodus.

The first five books of the Bible were written over 4,000 years ago and they give a brief history of creation of the universe and this world we live in.  They also gave the Jews a history they could believe in.  When Moses wrote the books the Jews knew there was a God but they really did not know Him personally and they had little knowledge of who or what He was.  They had testimonies from hand me down stories of their past but their 470 years of captivity in Egypt dulled their memories and their spirits; they had little memory of God.  Moses gave them their beginning so they could have a foundation for their belief in God.

The first Book of the Bible is called Genesis and the word means beginning.   For practical application, that beginning happened to a man and a woman respectively named Adam and Eve. The name Adam actually means man and the name Eve means mother of all living.  The book begins with “In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”  It does not give a date or time so it could have been 16.2 billion years ago like our modern day scientist’s claim or it could have been a mere six thousand years ago as some creationists believe.  I don’t know how long it took God to create all this but I do know when Adam was naming all the animals on this earth if he did it in one 24 hour day it had to be the longest 24 hours in the history of this world. However, it really does not matter when it comes to our salvation.  What does matter is God created everything visible and invisible and there is nothing existing anywhere that He did not create.

The words following the opening sentence are, “and the earth was formless and void.”  The words formless and void mean destroyed and in a state of chaos, confusion and desperation. The next words are, “and darkness covered the surface of the deep.”  With respect to these words, the word darkness means, chaos, confusion and evil and the surface of the deep suggests a thought process that leaves a mind confused, in a state of chaos or even suffering from the chains of evil.  So we have a world suffering from chaos, confusion, evil, and in a state of despair even destroyed.  So God was not just creating, He was recreating this earth because it was devastated.  Notice that the opening sentence does not say the entire universe was formless and void, only the earth.  This is where God is telling us a state of condition regarding this one planet and the destroyer lived on this planet at that time.

The opening words God uses here do not give dates, times or epochs.  The idea of time does not actually exist with God; He is omnipresent.  His existence is not like ours nor does it depend upon our beliefs, but rather we are caught up in His existence and we are dependent upon His beliefs and edicts.  He sees all things in the moment and that moment is measured by us humans as linear existence.  The fact that we are unable to understand this concept does not change the concept, it establishes it because what is established in our minds is moot compared to that which is established in the mind of God. Then, we have Peter telling us that a day is like a thousand years to God and a thousand years a day.  Peter is telling us that time and measurements are for our benefit, not God’s.

In the Bible there are a number of prophets, people who could foretell the future.  They were called prophets of God.  There were Major Prophets and Minor Prophets.  One of those Prophets was a man named Isaiah, He lived around 800 BC.  He tells of an angel of God who rebelled against God and began a war against God in an effort to overthrow God. Naturally, this was a silly endeavor because the created is never capable of overwhelming the creator.

The Roman Catholic Church calls this Angel Lucifer. There actually was no angel with the name Lucifer but there was an angel that rebelled against God.  That angel lost his battle against those angels who fought him and subsequently he and his followers who rebelled with him were cast out of heaven and down to earth.  The battle suggests that this being was vulnerable and in his vulnerability lost the battle.  The story tells us that a third of the angels rebelled with him.  Revelation 12:4  gives us some insight to the fall of this angel we call Satan as do Ezekiel and Isaiah.

Ezekiel wrote in his chapter 28, to the ruler of Tyre, Ethbaal III, he ruled Tyre around 572 BC to about 590 BC. Ezekiel said, “your heart is proud, and you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of the gods, in the heart of the seas’’

This statement from God was addressed to Ethbaal and at that time Ethball was the earthly king of Tyre, but then God addresses the king of Tyre. “Thus says the Lord God: You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, Sardis, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings.  On the day that you were created they were prepared.  You were an anointed guardian cherub, I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.  You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you.”(Ezekiel 28:12-15.) It appears Ezekiel is talking about Satan, not some human.  No human ever walked among the stones of fire or stood on the Holy Mountain.  God continues with, “You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence in your midst, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and I destroyed you, O guardian cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you. By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade you profaned your sanctuaries; so I brought fire out from your midst; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all who saw you” (Ezekiel 28:15-18).

Isaiah gives us more insight to the nature of Satan.  “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:12-14).

We should notice in Isaiah 14 that Satan in his arrogance projected his will over God five different times.  We should also note that the idea of climbing the ladder that he might ascend to heaven suggests he was on earth at the time.  That does not mean he was on the earth before Adam and Eve, but it also does not give a date or time as to when Satan decided to rebel; his rebellion could have easily taken place millions of years before God created Adam and Eve.  We know Satan took the shape of a serpent and came into the Garden of Eden to tempt Eve, which means he had to know beforehand that God was going to create man in His image and likeness.

We must remember that God sees all things at one moment, so Satan could have rebelled a thousand or a million years ago our time.  We are not privy to that information but we know he was in the Garden tempting Eve which means he was watching the creation of both Adam and Eve and most likely waiting for the opportunity to destroy God’s creation of man.

We can see the nature of Satan’s rebellion and we can see the results of his actions here on earth; his constant interference with governments and the individual lives of the people of this earth are a testimony to his hatred of God.

I do not know if he and his followers destroyed the earth but I do know that God in His recreation said, “Let there be Light.”  That Light was the first mention of Jesus in the Bible.  I say this because all through the Bible Jesus is called the Light unto the world.  At the time God said “Let there be Light,” the sun was not yet placed above the earth, so the earth was literally in darkness. That darkness is called chaos and confusion, signifying evil.  The fact that Light had to come to the earth tells us that the earth had to be in darkness before the Light came and it was probably in darkness for a great length of time. The idea of the Spirit of God moving over the waters does not exactly fit the many different words used for moving.  One of those words is ‘brooding’, but if the world was in a desperate condition, I would think the Spirit of God would be brooding over the waters.

Genesis goes on to tell us the story of Adam and Eve the first people created in the image and likeness of God.  If there were other people on the earth at that time the Bible does not say, but it leads us to believe there were people on the earth at the time Adam and Eve were created. It also tells us that some of those people were offspring of the one we call Satan.  It is commonly believed that Satan is the fallen angel that was kicked out of heaven and cast down to earth.  We do know Satan can look like any person walking down the street.  We also know there were millions who rebelled with him and we call them demons.  These demons can also manifest themselves in many different forms.  Today, there are those who believe in all sorts of magic, witchcraft and other forms of soothsaying.  All of this action is Satanic and must be avoided.  Satan is the master of this world and I will tell you why it is so and how he became the master of this world.

His mastery probably started when he was cast down out of heaven.  It is presumed he was cast down to earth and took possession of it.  It is also presumed that he waited for God to create man in His own image and likeness.  But it was after God created Adam and then Eve that Satan took possession of man and his doings.

When God created Adam, He placed Adam in a perfect garden.  We call the garden the Garden of God.  It was a perfect place and Adam was the perfect man.  God also fashioned out of man the woman Adam called Eve.  These two lived in the garden.  In the garden were many trees and abundant food.  One of the trees in the garden was the tree of life and there was another tree called the ‘tree of the knowledge of good and evil.’  I call that tree the tree of death. So the two trees represent that which gives eternal life and the other gives eternal death.  Adam was told he was not to touch the tree of death nor could he eat the fruit of the tree and if he did on that day he would surly die.

This idea of trees being good and evil are only representations of what will come in the future.  In a sense they are prophetic because the tree of life shows up later in the last book of the Bible.  In that book the tree of death does not exist.  I will get into that later.  For now, we have two people who were created perfect in all their being.  Adam, who God created from the dirt and Eve, who God created out of Adam.  This creation of both Adam and Eve took place approximately 6000 years ago.  We know that because the Bible has a chronology that goes back to Adam.

As I said when I started this, there was an angel that rebelled against God and we now call that angel Satan.  This Satan entered the garden and convinced Eve that the tree of death would actually bring her wisdom and knowledge making her equal to God.  He assured her if she ate from the tree she most certainly would not die.  He seduced her and she ate from the tree.  The Bible says he took the form of a serpent or he entered a serpent’s body to seduce Eve. No matter how he seduced her or beguiled her he was successful.  Eve then took the fruit from the tree to Adam and he too ate.  As soon as they ate the fruit, their eyes were indeed opened and they realized they were both naked.  They became ashamed because of their nakedness and covered themselves with fig leaves.

None of us are actually ashamed of being nude so the nakedness had to represent something other than nudity.  It represented the fact that they had lost the Spirit of God; they perceived that loss as a shameful state and they thought they could cover that nakedness with fig leaves.  Eating the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil killed their spirit; they were no longer one with God; they died spiritually.  However, there is more to understand here than just the loss of Spirit.  When God fashioned Eve out of one of Adam’s ribs and Adam saw her he said, “This is now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.”

Later, after they ate of the forbidden tree, Adam called his wife Eve because she was the mother of all living.  What Adam was saying in these two statement above is very important with tremendous meaning.  First: we must understand that Adam and Eve were absolutely perfect beings; they had no flaws anywhere in their bodies.  They were not flesh and blood but rather flesh and bone.  Their life was not supported by blood flowing through their veins but by the living Spirit of God living in them; They were literally children of Light.  They were the image and likeness of God Jehovah, even Jesus. When Jesus walked as a man he was flesh and blood but after His resurrection, He was flesh and bone, the God of Light as portrayed in Genesis when God said, “Let there be Light.” Understanding the above might be somewhat difficult but we must remember that Jesus was with God at creation and He was the Word of God. The fact that He was made flesh and dwelt among us only solidifies the fact that while he has the fullness of deity, He did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped.  (Philippians 2:6)

Second: The sin of Adam and Eve was so great that they lost the Spirit of God within them and they immediately became children of the world with flesh and blood.  Their life was now sustained by blood instead of the Spirit of God.  Instead of being children of Light, they became children of this world.  The loss was so great that it extended down to the present day because we as their children are the inheritors; we inherited the loss of God’s Spirit and became children of darkness.  In addition, by their sin, they relinquished their ownership of this world over to Satan and by their sin declared him the new ruler of earth. Since Satan is in exact opposition to God he took advantage of his ownership. It would be nothing for him to change all men into degrading animals separated from God but His motives went even deeper.  He knew God promised Adam and Eve a Messiah, a savior and he knew that savior would come to destroy him.  He diligently worked throughout the entire Bible to defeat God and then Jesus.  It is interesting how hard he tries but to no avail.

His hatred, his anger and fear of the coming Messiah brought about a vengeance determined to destroy the coming Messiah and he started with Abel.  He had Cain kill Abel thinking Abel could be that Messiah.  As it turned out, Abel was not the Messiah.  The reason he had Cain kill Abel was because Satan knew Cain could not be the Messiah, so it had to be either Abel or some future male child.

So now you might be asking, ‘how did Satan know Cain was not the Messiah?’  The answer is buried in the words of Genesis, but if you think about it you will realize that Cain was Satan’s son. Cain’s offering from the ground was a good offering according to Saint Paul but it was unacceptable because it was an offering from the flesh not the Spirit; Cain really did not care anything for God and he certainly did not like his brother, Able.  The religiosity of Cain was not the same as the love of God coming from Abel.  Cain’s spirit was flawed and debase because his Genetic makeup was not the same as Adam’s.

The interesting thing about this is the angels of God came down and mated with the daughters of men.  Understand this, the result of this mating was a race of giants called the Nephilim.  These giants knew things that mortal man could not know and would never know had the angelic watchers remained in Heaven where they belonged but they chose to transform themselves into the likeness of man and take for themselves earthly women.  Their penalty for this was banishment from heaven.  The result of their mating with earthly women was a race of debase animalistic giants that corrupted the earth with evil.  This evil was so great that God had to destroy all life on earth.  The only ones saved were Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives.  The last of Adam’s offspring recorded was Methuselah and he died about two years before the flood.  Enoch walked with God and God took him about four hundred years before the flood.

The Bible tells us that these Nephilim were before and after the flood and they were; Goliath was a Philistine Nephilim as was Canaan the son of Ham and Canaan’s son Nimrod. Canaan was he who began the building of the tower of Babel and Nimrod, his son continued the work after Canaan’s death.  The reason these Nephilim existed after the flood was because of the Gene pool; the gene pool was polluted by not just the fallen angels but also by Cain’s offspring.  Cain’s offspring are recorded in the Bible up to and including the third generation.  That would have been the time of Enoch.  After that time there is no record of Cain or the sons of Cain.

I will do this in installments.

Daniel– A true Book of God?

There are many scholars around the Christian world who do not believe Daniel is a truly prophetic book from God but as far as I’m concerned, they are doing the work of Satan. The Jewish historians also do not include Daniel in there list of prophets.

The book of Daniel accurately prophesied the fall of the Persian Empire at the hands of Alexander the great.  The Book of Daniel also accurately prophesied the fall of the Greek empire and predicted it would be parceled out to four different individuals.  The Book also accurately predicted the fall of the Egyptian Empire to Rome and gave details about the war Cleopatra and Mark Anthony waged against Rome.  Daniel also accurately predicted the fall of the Roman Empire and the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD.  The only prophesies left in the book of Daniel pertain to the man of destruction in the end times and that is about to happen.  Jesus said in Mathew 24:15,“Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 17“Whoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. 18“Whoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. 19“But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20“But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. 21“For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. 22“Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘There He is,’ do not believe him. 24“For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. 25“Behold, I have told you in advance. 26“So if they say to you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them. 27“For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

If the book is good enough for Jesus to quote from it then I will take His word for it; it is the Word of God.  Pastor Ron

Is the Torah Really the Word of God?

A series on the Torah

By Pastor Ron

There are many who believe the Torah is a book of guidelines; that there were no people named Adam and Eve.  They believe the first five books were written just to give the Jews a heritage.  They believe that even Moses’ ideas were from his previous life in Egypt.  They believe he had to give a primitive people a heritage and hence the Torah.

Now, I would not begin a dialogue of dispute over any of these beliefs because it would not be productive.  What people believe or refuse to believe about God’s Word usually comes from Satan and factually, what others believe and profess has no bearing on my beliefs.  I believe Jesus is our Salvation and I believe He is God who came here as a man to redeem the world and all who would come to Him.  I believe if it is in the Bible, God dictated it to man for our benefit.

There are five books in the Torah.  They are the basis of the Jewish belief system.  All the other books of the Old Testament are considered historical and not part of the law, good for reading and understanding but not necessarily required reading for the practicing Jew and we all know few if any Christians have ever taken the time to read or understand any of the Bible books.

The first book of the Torah is genesis.  It gives the people of earth a beginning and admittedly, it has what appears to be discrepancies.  Many people believe it literally states God created the entire universe in six twenty four hour days while others believe Genesis states God created it all in six days but a day is not stated as a twenty four hour period.  Still, there are others who believe this universe in its entirety evolved from some big bang theory and there is no God.

The foolishness of these arguments and the folly of thought that goes along with them is the idea that man in his limited capacity has the ability to actually understand any of it in the first place.  It is the arrogance of man that fosters the ignorance of comprehending God.  It is laughable to think we could ever understand or analyze the mind of God or His attributes.  God’s abilities are so far beyond the minds of our greatest scientist that the comparison is like an ameba attempting to understand the mind of that scientist.

I simply enjoy the idea that God created everything visible and invisible and there is nothing He did not create that exists.  Understanding that does not require any particular thought process or any complicated reasoning; it just requires common sense.

In that creation God said the earth was formless and void, a condition of disaster and destruction.  Then God said, “Let there be light.”  The fact that God said this leaves us to believe there must have been darkness.  In fact, darkness covered the face of the deep. Genesis describes darkness as chaos, confusion and evil.  That in itself is a curious thought.  If darkness is all those things then what is Light?

Obviously, from the statement and the question, Light must be the opposite—order, understanding and good.  Now we have a problem; if God created all this why would there be chaos and confusion, evil, destruction and disaster?  Perhaps something happened to bring about those conditions.

Indeed, something did happen.  There was a war in heaven.  We do not know all the particulars of the war but we do know there was an angel, a very perfect angel who was the leader of all the angels.  This angel or being if you wish was created absolutely perfect until deceit was found in him.  He had everything going for him but for some reason he became prideful and angry.  Some religious scholars will tell us that he became that way because he was told that God intended to create man who would be superior to all the angels, including him.  I suppose that explanation fits for some individuals and it might even be true but the Bible does not actually tell us that so we really do not know the reason for this angel’s fall, his anger or his hatred.

His pride brought him to rebellion and in that rebellion he convinced a third of the angels under his charge to rebel with him. His thought were to excel himself above the throne of God and take over the kingdom of Heaven, thus declaring himself the supreme ruler.  Subsequently, he was defeated in the war and by his failure, he and those who followed him were expelled, cast out or kicked out of heaven and cast down to earth. The number of those in rebellion had to be in the millions, possibly even in the billions.  These beings we now call demons and their leader we call Satan.  Probably because we have no other name that fits his rebellion.  Some of the Bibles call him Lucifer but a careful study of the ancient Hebrew and correlating those studies with the Strong’s Concordance do not support the name, Lucifer.  The only name that can be accorded to this angel is Liu, meaning light.  We know he was the bright morning star and we know he walked with Jesus among the stones of fire.  We do not know what the reference to the stones of fire mean.

There are other cultures that give this angel different names but all of them know him as the evil one and Jesus called him the devil.  Apostles called him the great destroyer. We also know that many of his followers were chained and put in a prison.

This being, this creature, this serpent as many call him ruled the earth for many years. In fact, he and his followers destroyed the earth bringing with their destruction, chaos, confusion and evil.  That is why when Genesis begins God is recreating the earth.  The earth had to be reestablished because Satan and his followers literally destroyed it.

When God said, “Let there be Light,” the light completely overwhelmed the darkness and the darkness fled away from the Light because that which lives in darkness and propagates evil cannot stand the Truth of the Light; it flees from Truth and even hides from it.  We can see that today in this world.  Confront evil with the truth of any subject and it will become hostile.

The illumination of one’s mind is a wonderful thing but a mind living in darkness, fostering evil and hatred has no desire to be exposed; it only desires its comfort zone.   That is why later in the Bible it says, “The world saw a great light, but those living in darkness fled from the Light because they did not want their deeds exposed.” Mathew 4:16, John 3:19.

The great Light spoken of here and in Isaiah is the same Light in Genesis that forced the darkness to flee. This story we call Genesis is not just a fairy tale to tickle the unknowing Jews.  The Jews were very well educated people and they understood the words of Moses.  They knew from the Torah there was a Messiah foretold as far back as Genesis and they waited eagerly for Him.

The very first words of Genesis were specific and chosen very carefully, put together for the Jews and any others who read the words to understand that this story is not written for the ignorant to understand something simple but it was written for all people to understand that God is the only creator and His name is Jesus, the Messiah. It is a story unfolding history that we might read and understand how awesome is our God.

However, if one is blind to the Truth as are many they will never understand and they will never see Jesus in creation.  They will never see the Light of this world even Yeshua, our salvation.  They will never understand the need for salvation and they will never escape the darkness they live in. The hold Satan has on them can only be broken by Christ and the person living in that slavery must call out to Jesus for that salvation, that freedom.

Christians and Gays

I will admit I am not a supporter of the gay/lesbian lifestyle, but as a Christian Minister I know that Jesus died that all people come to Him. Thus includes every person on this planet regardless of their race, creed, color, individual beliefs, lifestyle or state of sin in their hearts. I came to Christ from the slime of this earth. If Jesus saved me out of my pit, He can and will save any person regardless of their current position in life. Let not any Christian look at this incidence in Orlando as coming from God. God does not seek out the sinner for any purpose other than his or her salvation. This heneous crime came from Satan. He is the adversary, not God. Christians are supposed to understand that but because religions have so distorted the Truth of God’s message many people calling themselves Christian, have been deluded into believing they are speaking for God. Believe me when I say, This is not how God works. Jesus loves all people. He did not die for some or the few; He died for everyone if us. All any of us have to do is come to Him with a repentant heart and He will gladly take us back from the ruler of this earth. Pastor Ron

Being Christ Like

Many Christians talk about being Christ Like but how many actually are?

Suppose you are in your car waiting for a light to change and it does but the car in front of you doesn’t move.  What do you do?  Do you wait patiently or do you get angry and blow your horn, worse yet do you begin to curse and swear at the individual for being so….?  You get the point.  Do you actually believe Jesus would act this way?

You’re a married man sitting in your car and a beautiful young woman walks by and you can’t take your eyes off of her.  You even go so far as to fantasize about her.  Do you really think Jesus would engage in such behavior?

You are a wife sitting at home waiting for your husband to get home from work but he doesn’t show up on time and when he does get home he smells of alcohol.  So, you immediately begin berating him for his behavior and that turns into an argument in front of the children.  Do you think Jesus would engage in behavior of that sort?

You just purchased groceries from the store and when you get home you discover the woman at the checkout did not charge you for the milk.  Do you shrug your shoulders and say to yourself, “Oh well, the store has plenty of money and it’s only a gallon of milk.  Besides, I need it worse than they do and the woman should be more careful and watch what she is doing.”  Think about it.  Jesus was a perfect man who could not lie, cheat or steal.  What do you think He would do?

You go to church on Sunday and while a man who apparently lives on the street very shabbily dressed, unkempt and dirty smelling sits down right next to you.  Do you shake your head in disgust and move or do you accept that he is a poor man and say, “Welcome?”

Ask yourself. “What would Jesus do?”  You see, if you think you are Christ like you might want to reevaluate how you stand on issues.

You don’t care much for a certain person running for President.  Do you run the person down ridiculing him or her for their political stand?  Do you post things on local media that suggest the person is a thief or a womanizer?  Do you discredit the person without evidence? Do you make disparaging remarks about the person without ever having met the person?  Do you believe Jesus would do something like that?

We all have tendencies toward being human; after all, it is only human nature to demean, ridicule, get angry or argumentative but is it a Christian attitude?  Christians who say they are Christ like or want to be Christ like must remember that while it is only human nature to act like a fool it is not what Jesus would do.  He was patient, kind, forgiving, compassionate, loving and most of all Spiritually minded not human minded.  Yes, Jesus had a human nature but he acted according to the Holy Spirit, not His human nature.  We too are supposed to act according to the Holy Spirit instead of our human nature which is contrary to the nature of God.

Becoming Free in Christ

Satan manipulates people, even scholars to change God’s Word that he might continue his confusion.  It is his goal to keep us in his realm of slavery, but we can be made free in Christ if only we believe in His power to save us from the clutches of the evil one.

The Words ‘make you free’ are often misquoted and replaced with the words, ‘Set you free.’ There is a distinct difference between the two statements.  Look at the words, ‘set you free.’  A jailer can set you free by way of court but a slave master is slightly different, especially Satan as our slave master; he will never let his servants go. He makes sure they are happy in the flesh, even smothered in wealth and power. Satan makes the flesh taste so good that even those calling themselves Christian refuse to give it up.

It is Satan’s intention to destroy the work of God and destroy you.  It is his only goal and he cannot accomplish it by letting even one person escape.  Slaves held by Satan have to be taken away.  They have to be pulled right up out of the muck and placed in the boat of safety.   When we understand that God is reaching down and all we have to do is take His hand, then and only then will we be made free.  Remember, God does not use force to save us; he uses reason, logic and love.  He offers forgiveness, compassion for our weaknesses and unconditional love.

God also never forces any person to come to Him; He is patient and kind but for those who do not listen, He is also perfectly just in His rejection of them.  In order to get His people to come to Him out of the grasp of Satan, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus to save them.  Jesus made the perfect sacrifice for His people to pull them out of the hands of Satan and they rejected Him.  Consequently, He offered that same salvation to us, the Gentiles.  Jesus, right now has His hand reaching down to every one of us who have not yet taken advantage of the offer for freedom. All we have to do is reach up the same as Peter and cry out, “Lord, Save me!”  And He will take hold pulling out of the hands of the evil one.

While Salvation is a free gift, we must reach for it.  It takes great power to pull someone out of the clutches of Satan.  This is not a power we humans possess; it must be done by God.  We are helpless to save ourselves because we are bond slaves sold to Satan for his personal pleasure.

The freedom offered to us is guaranteed if we know and understand the Truth.  The Word Truth is considered a common noun but when it signifies a person, it is no longer common but becomes a proper noun, it becomes a Word of Substance, a Word of purpose with power, the power to save and the power to make one free.   When the Bible says, “the Truth will make you free.” It is referring to Jesus Himself making you free because He is the Truth.   When people repent and give their lives over to Jesus, they create an obligatory bond between themselves and Christ.  Pilate asked Jesus, “What is Truth?” but Pilate was incapable of understanding the answer because he did not believe in God’s power, nor did he believe there was an evil demon controlling his actions.  Even many Christians of today have no idea that Satan prompted Bible scholars to change the words, ‘Make Free’ to ‘Set Free’. The impact of changing one word diminishes the power of God and gives that power to man.  However, man by his own power cannot escape the slavery imposed on him by Satan.  Satan is the ruler of this earth, you are not going to escape his hold on you by your own will.  You must be freed by the power of God.

Once God frees you from the slavery of this world, you feel an obligation to Him.  He does not demand your servitude but He does demand your love.  Does He not tell us that we are to love the Lord our God with our whole mind, body and soul?   It was the foremost commandment of all the law given the Jews.  You cannot love God and serve the world at the same time.  You cannot even love your neighbor as you love yourself if you belong to Satan.  You are a slave to Satan if you love the world.  You also cannot belong to God and Satan at the same time.  No man can serve two masters.

When God makes you free from the bonds of this earth and the ruler of this world, you cannot go back. Satan will try everything to get you back but if you cling to Jesus, He will keep you safe.  If you falter and return to the slavery of this world and the bonds of Satan you will become a greater slave than you were before and it will be impossible to bring you back a second time.

Jesus told the Pharisees in Mathew 23:15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you travel around on sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.”

The Pharisees created an atmosphere in the Jewish community of slavery to the law.  This is exactly what Satan does.  Satan knows the Bible as well as any man on this planet and he knows how to use it against us.  He changes a word here and a word there and people, even scholars fall into his trap of lies.  The Pharisees, over the years of influence of Satan became masters of subterfuge and manipulation.  They used their power as overseers to create a hostile environment within the temple walls; they made the law of God so stringent that the common Jew was not even allowed to enter the Temple.  A man confined to a bed could not be fed on the Sabbath day because no work of any kind was allowed by the Pharisees.

God did not set His laws upon man for man to become slaves to it but that is exactly what the Pharisees used the law for and they did it at the commands of Satan.  Jesus came to free man from that bondage because the Pharisees subverted the law forcing the people into slavery.

The problem with the slavery to the law was the law could not save them; it is the same slavery we suffer in the bonds of Satan.  The law was given to man that transgressions might increase so salvation could be made manifest in Christ Jesus.  If the law could save, then there would be no reason for God to intervene and bring salvation to earth by sacrificing His only begotten son on a cross.  The sacrificial offering had to be a perfect offering, a perfect being, a being so perfect that no blemish could be found in Him.  In other words the only being we know of that is perfect, is God. The perfection of God in His Son was the way God chose to bring salvation to man, the Jew first and then the Gentile.

The Pharisees used the law as a weapon against the people but they did not have the right to interpret the laws in such a manner that the people became slaves to it. The Pharisees would actually have people executed of they broke the law.  There are religions in the world today who in the past had people executed if they broke the law of the church.  This is not what God intended; we are to live in Christ with love and peace with patience and kindness.  We are to love our neighbor and forgive their transgressions.  That is the way of God.  As God forgave us, we too should forgive our neighbor, our relatives, even our enemies.  There is no room in the Christian’s heart for bigotry, hate, gossiping, dissipation, adultery, anger or any other abomination, which only bring death.  We are to enjoy the fruit of our labor of love in the peace of Christ.  Pastor Ron.
